Both David Crowley and Oli Bennett – now Socket Consulting's directors – worked on this project. Oli was employed by King’s Cross’ developer, Argent and took on development management responsibilities for the project. David worked for the bridge’s Main Contractor, Carillion and undertook project management. The project delivered a pedestrian and cycle bridge across the Regent Canal, London. The bridges slender profile and relatively long span made it a technically challenging design to realise. And the bridge’s proximity to London Wildlife Trust’s Camley Street Natural Park required a sensitive approach to construction. The completed bridge was an important step in increasing the permeability of the King’s Cross development, opening up the site to the communities west of the canal.

"Delivering the Somers Town Bridge with David and Oli was hugely enjoyable. Although they worked for the Main Contractor and Client respectively, both ensured everyone worked as a single team with a single goal; to deliver an exceptional design, on time and within budget"
